An LVT-1 amphibious tractor, “Whiskey Sour,” carries Marines of the 2nd Marine Division toward Betio during the Battle of Tarawa. Assigned to the 2nd Amphibian Tractor Battalion, the vehicle was among the amtracs that reached the island during the assault.
